SLEEPING THROUGH THE STROM

Another one from Sumana's collection... read and reflect.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

A young man applied for a job as a farmhand. When the farmer asked for his qualifications, he said, "I can sleep when the wind blows."

This puzzled the farmer. But he liked the young man, and hired him.

A few days later, the farmer and his wife were awakened in the night by a violent storm. They quickly began to check things out to see if all was secure. They found that the shutters of the farmhouse had been securely fastened. A good supply of logs had been set next to the fireplace.

The young man slept soundly.

The farmer and his wife then inspected their property. They found that the farm tools had been placed in the storage shed, safe from the elements.

The tractor had been moved into the garage. The barn was properly locked. Even the animals were calm. All was well.

The farmer then understood the meaning of the young man's words, "I can sleep when the wind blows."Because the farmhand did his work loyally and faithfully when the skies were clear, he was prepared for the storm when it broke. So when the wind blew, he was not afraid. He could sleep in peace.

Sumana, you seem to be having this awesome collection of inspiring thought... its nice of u that you share it with people like us.

I like this article a lot... here is why -
A nice way to present first of all by the young man... and finally it shows how much he knows about himself. Most of the time we know very little about ourselves, and we understand even minimal of what people tell us... we don't get to understand what is told immediately... just like the farmer in the story. Think I can take a cue from here and improve myself in this angle, I would like to understand the implications to improve my option set.
The second point is quite noted down nicely in the story... being prepared when we have time is the best way to be safe when we run into troubled waters. Its nice that the young man had realised this point early in life...I want to learn that and adapt it in my life...

These 2 points from the above list give a lot of insight into myself... makes me look at what happens in life more closely... this is very important.
