I was surprised by the fact that the elephants such huge creatures were being held by only a small chain tied to their front leg. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the chain they were tied to but for some reason, they did not.
I saw a trainer near by and asked why these, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.
"Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size chain to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the chain can still hold them, so they never try to break free."
I was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? That's called "mind set"; we must be cautious about such mind set. The truth is only in the belief that we can achieve in life if we believe to.
Hi sachi
That was a good one yes we do conditon our mind that is the reason we r not able to grow from what we r right now yes we need break ourselves to a new dimesion so that we can grow.

Whatever task one performs, responses, achievements, next move, his future everything depends on individual's mindset...to sum up one can shape one's life depending on his/her mindset. One common thing, I have heard often is "he/she is like that 'coz from childhood he/she is bought up or environment is like that(some reason whatever fits)". I can say my eg., "before coming over to b'lore I was so dumb, hardly speaking, not mingling, averting opportunities, afraid to raise voice against dislikes, but when I see myself today, a greate zeal fills in me of how I shaped it. I could do this by setting my mind towards it, meticulously following it with great determination...earshots of people around averting..but never bothered. " Of course lot of things, how we are today, or our nature or character everything is been carved in childhood. Basic foundation of mindset is already been set up, which our counscience averts to cross that barrier. Inheriting these foundation, we can shape our life in better and successful way by altering the mindset, but only determination and strong belief/will is required towards it and ofcourse ready to accept the changes in life. Just like the eg., of Elephant as mentioned...which never tries out its power, its will, which continues to work under hands or guidance of others, thus losing its identity, is not an individual should follow. Every person in this world has just one life to do everything and time and opportunity once lost will never come back. So when there is time and opportunity just grab it. One should say to yourself "I can do it", "I will do it" and you can feel the confidence, zeal electrifying in you. In this labyrinth journey, you can face success or failure or stumble or even discouraging earshot... which one should be prepared for it and adapt to situation. Never turn back your steps though you face fails on your way. Try and try till you reach the goal. There is light after dark, there is day after night, there is silver lining for dark clouds, there is happiness for sadness ...thus there is success for every failure....which is very sweet. :)

There is a beautiful quote by "Jim Rohn" which says "Walk away from the 97% crowd. Don't use their excuses. Take charge of your own life."
Now we have realized that there is no fatality in life about. These beliefs about ourselves, which we thought we were born with, are infact acquired during childhood, just like the elephant in the example.
Best Wishes,
